Something larger than this lifted truck, and something smaller than this petite roadster.

Ducati Multistrada Enduro and this big 4x4 conversion van

Bam. Set for life. And you better believe the Ducati would be strapped to the back of the van. Street-oriented adventure bike and a quite large lifted van that could still make it through a lot of terrain.

Travel the states going from national park to national park, drive up to Alaska.... Ohhhhhh yeah

Ohhhh good choices. You’d need a pretty cleverly engineered ramp setup, but you could latch it to the top too. What’s another eh... 1400lbs?

It’s treaded and they don’t launch from it. That platform is used to move the shuttle from the assembly building to the launch pad.

it probably wouldn’t even notice it was up there. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was already a crane up there.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crawler-transporter

There are two of them that have been in use since the Apollo program, transporting the Saturn V and the Space Shuttle (as well as the mobile launch pad itself) from the Vehicle Assembly Building to the launch complexes. They are currently waiting around for the SLS to be used again.

But then you are basically driving the van all the damn time. While it would be cool to adventure to places with, you lose out entirely on the driving experience part. Sure the motorcycle could make up for that but you cant use that all the time. This is the whole concept that brought me to like Miatas anyways. Cheap, reliable, and fun enough to just work well for everything if practicality and multiple passengers wasnt a big concern. Anything faster/more expensive would probably just be a hassle on impromptu 4000 mile trips. And anything more practical is just not as raw of an experience. I’m learning theres more middleground with my STi but still on a road trip where the trip is more important than the destination, I think I would still prefer the Miata.

I probably wouldn’t need a house, plus I could carry the AZ-1 on the back of the truck. I don’t know what an AZ-1 goes for these days, but that truck is available for less than $39K, so this is a rather affordable combination as well.

Ideally the Unimog would spend a lot of time with a camper body on the back instead of the bed.

I too would prefer Miata travel. Although... I think this summer I’ll be renting a few interesting cars on turo for weekend trips. Grabbed a hellcat for two days and it was so fun getting a completely different experience

Okay, you beat the system. You win. Car, boat, racetrack, drift circuit, travel by sea and land, plenty of lodging.... Yep. I like this choice

Agreed 100%. I love doing Turo rentals. It just gives better perspective to things. I know after doing a few rentals, I dont wish my Miata was an S2k. But I definitely wouldnt mind if it were replaced with a C7 corvette or Porsche Cayman. Both of those were definitely the best cars I’ve driven. Although skipshift in the vette would have to get deleted immediately and idk if I could be a “corvette guy”. I am still in debate whether I would be okay with replacing my Miata with an FRS/BRZ. I think it would work, ive rented two of them and loved every minute of it. For a time I debated having both my Miata and picking up a used FRS instead of the STi that I got. That would have been impractical lol.

There are more sensible choices out there, but few are cooler.

It even comes with free travel, lodging and a parking space. :D
